Iliamna is a dry village by law, and it’s illegal for us to sell or provide liquor. However, guests are free to bring their own spirits. We furnish whatever mix you may need, and we are more than willing to serve your wine at dinner. We are located on the shores of Lake Iliamna, the largest lake in Alaska. The lodge is situated in a remote village of Iliamna approximately one hour by flight from Anchorage. Our exclusive location grants us access to over 110 square miles of private fishing territory, ensuring you fish without the crowds found at other lodges. Rainbow King Lodge offers world-class fishing for a wide variety of species. Depending on the season, guests can target Rainbow Trout, Sockeye Salmon, Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho (Silver) Salmon, Pink Salmon, Chum Salmon, Northern Pike, Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden, and Pacific Halibut. Our season runs from June through September. June & July: Excellent for King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Sockeye Salmon runs. August & September: Prime time for Coho (Silver) Salmon and trophy-sized Rainbow Trout as they feed on salmon eggs. We provide high-quality fishing gear as part of your all-inclusive package, including waders, rods, reels, and tackle appropriate for the specific fish you are targeting. If you prefer to use your own fly-fishing equipment, you are welcome to bring it. Iliamna is legally a "dry" village, meaning we cannot sell or supply liquor. However, guests are welcome to bring their own spirits. We provide all necessary mixers and are happy to serve your wine during dinner. The lodge atmosphere is social and relaxed, and guests often enjoy tending the bar and sharing stories. Guests typically fly into Anchorage (ANC) and then take a connecting flight on Lake Clark Airlines (the lodge will make your reservation) to the village of Iliamna. From there, our staff will greet you and transport you to the lodge. We assist with all travel logistics to ensure your journey to our remote Alaskan paradise is stress-free. Absolutely. Our expert guides are patient and skilled at teaching beginners the art of fly fishing.
