Unlike many other Alaska sport fishing lodges, where guests participate in combat fishing with hundreds of others, you’re more likely to see moose, brown bear, foxes, and other wildlife than fishermen outside of your own party and the guides. The fishing grounds for guests of Rainbow King include over 30 streams and rivers in the Iliamna/Katmai watershed that have been secured for exclusive access via private licenses. You’ll depart from the lodge in the morning on an aircraft equipped with floats to your fishing destination of the day. There will be one guide for every two anglers, and you’ll enjoy a hot lunch prepared by your guide in the fresh air on the shore of the river or stream where you’re fishing.
