Pink (Humpy) Salmon – The smallest of the Pacific Salmon, averaging 3 to 5 pounds and are generally considered a by-catch. Also called ‘humpies’ due to the enlarged humps males develop in fresh water. They have the heaviest migration every seven years and can be a lot of fun on a six weight fly rod. They arrive in mid-July and August. What pink salmon lack in size they make up for in aggressiveness and non-stop action.
